homework

I need help with my homework. Please choose a value (or 2 or even 10) and tell me how it is taught in school directly and/or indirectly. I need input, people!! Democratic Values 1. Life (A person's right to life can't be violated except if your life or the lives of others is threatened.) 2. Liberty (This includes personal freedom, political freedom, and economic freedom. This is the freedom for people to gather in groups. They have their own beliefs, ideas and opinions. People also have the right to express their opinions in public. 3. Personal Freedom - the right to think and act without government control. 4. Political Freedom - the right to participate in political process. Economic Freedom - the right to buy, sell and trade private property and the right to employment without the government interferring) 5. Pursuit of Happiness (As long as you don't interfere with others you have the right to seek happiness in your own way.) 6. Common Good (Working together for the welfare of the community or the benefit of all.) 7. Justice - (All people should be treated fairly in both the benefits and the obligations of society. No individual or group should be favored over another person or group.) 8. Equality 9. Diversity 10. Truth 11.Popular Sovereinty - (The power of the government comes from the people. The people are the ultimate authority over the government.) 12. Patriotism Humanist Values 1. Individual humans are the ultimate source of morals, values, purposes, and meanings. Humans have the absolute capacity to understand their material reality and shape their material destiny. 2. Humans are responsible only to themselves; no deity will help or save us. The philosophy of naturalism--that what is studied by science is all that there is--best describes the universe; we have no knowledge of the supernatural and cannot rely on it. Free inquiry must not be infringed, and truth never suppressed. True equality should exist between men and women and between humans of different classes, races, and nationalities. All humans should have complete freedom of conscience and freedom from coercion of belief. Democracy should be established in all areas of public life. Human associations and institutions should act out of concern for collective humanity--for the human species--and not solely to further the ends of a specific nation, state, religion, or idealology

Christian Values 1. Worship 1 God only 2. Respect all people 3. Lead a moral life 4. be honest 5. be humble 6. be generous with time and money 7. practice what you preach 8. don't hold a grudge 9. forgive others 10. don't be self-righteous

Rainy Sunday

It is an icky day today. It has been raining hardcore since sometime last night. I did venture out earlier and snag some awesome boots for $30 at Stage (the ONLY clothing store we have in this town.) I also picked up some movies: Salt, Easy A, and Diary of a Wimpy Kid. I spent several hours working on hats and almost got motivated enough to make some fabric flowers. Now I am sitting around entering MORE giveaways when I should REALLY be working on my Quantative Article Critic. Who wants to spend the day doing that?!

Sad Oprah and Giveaways

I had to go back to work today after being out for a "snow" day. Really it was just icy slush. I cam home and submitted a homework assignment for my master's course. While working on it I watched Oprah. Let my give you a re-cap. These people were in a wreck and their 3 children (1 boy and 2 girls) were killed. A year to the day that the kids were killed, the lady gave birth to triplets (1 boy and 2 girls!) That gives me chills! Anyway...now I am entering more giveaways!
